Robinson Manufacturing Ltd

Robinson Manufacturing Ltd specialises in high quality timber engineered Roof Trusses and Floor Joists (I beams, metal web joists and glulam beams). The Robinson Manufacturing team have been manufacturing roof trusses and floor joists since 1986 and customers include many household names from the top 50 housebuilders across the UK.

With seven factories across the UK, we have outgrown our regional roots and now proudly supply house builders, commercial property developers, architects and contractors nationally as well as regionally and locally.

Recognised as a leading player in the sector, the business is a primary sponsor of the leading housebuilding awards – the annual WhatHouse Awards. It also partners with the Create Streets Foundation, lead by the co-Chair of Building Better Building Beautiful, Nicholas Boys-Smith, as well as with a number of high performing sports brands.

ETFS (Engineered Timber Floor Systems)

The group acquired ETFS, the flooring division of National Hickman, from its US parent company Masonite in January 2019. Once a significant market leader in the Joists sector, ETFS had been substantially run down by its owners, subject to some commercially damaging decisions as well as a lack of investment.

We were able to buy the business at a significant discount, and following nearly 12 months of investment in premises, equipment and people, and now operating under the Robinson Manufacturing brand, the business is once again thriving and taking market share from competitors.

We have been shortlisted for Finance Transaction of the Year at The Finance Awards 2019, sponsored by HSBC, for the way the deal was structured and completed.

Cheshire Roof Trusses

We acquired Cheshire Roof Trusses in 2018 to start to build a presence in the North West.

Based in the Cheshire countryside and operating across the North West, the business specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke timber roof trusses and engineered metal web floor joists, serving local housebuilders. The site is currently undergoing further extension and development to increase capacity dramatically, supporting the nationwide development of Robinson Manufacturing Ltd.

The Three Tuns

The Three Tuns at Fen Drayton is thought to be the oldest pub in Cambridgeshire and now offers a range of fine dining options as well as events.

The tie beams in what had been the jettied wing (its lower part now encased in brick) display superb 15th century moulding of great quality; the decoration on the central boss suggests a corn connection. The rest of the building was modernised in the late 16th, early 17th century when the fireplace and chimney were installed, at the same time, an upper storey was added.
